Will Shakespeare…!
What do you need for a successful Lower
School production? A bored monarch, a
jealous chamberlain and a royal troupe
of terrible actors, of course! Oh, and a
healthy dose of the Bard’s greatest hits.

PERFORMING ARTS
Will Shakespeare – Save Us! and Will Shakespeare
– Save The Queen! were two farcical comedies
interwoven with scenes from some of the most well-
loved Shakespeare plays, including Romeo & Juliet,
Macbeth, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing and
A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The hilarious cavorting
of the Rude Mechanicals had visiting primary school
audiences in fits. Bruno Millward and Olivia De Pury
were imperious monarchs in the two plays, while
Lara Foulsham and Phoebe Gough-Cooper admirably
captured the officiousness and simmering resentment
of the Lady Chamberlain. Jonjo Hodson and Nadia
Reavy added melodramatically to the chaos in their
portrayals of The Director in each show – and all were
supported by a superb ensemble of 37 boys and girls
from Years 7 and 8.
