The second-hand uniform shop,
run by FoS volunteers, which raises
thousands of pounds to support
student resources every year.
It has been another successful year for Friends of
Sevenoaks. Parents have enjoyed a wide range of
social, cultural and fun activities, allowing them to
make new friends amongst the eclectic local and
international Sevenoaks School community.
The year kicked off with a series of well-attended
Saturday coffee mornings for each year group, and
also with the New Parents’ Supper. With almost 200
guests, this was an enjoyable evening and a heartfelt
welcome to parents joining the school community,
giving them the opportunity to make new friends.
The highly anticipated sold-out Quiz Night did
not disappoint with its challenging and quirky
questions, while Christmas parties organised by social
coordinators punctuated the festive period in style.
To get rid of the beginning-of-year blues, the biennial
Comedy Night was the perfect occasion
and remedy to forget a long cold winter with
guaranteed laughter. For the sportier crowd, the
Sevenoaks Striders regularly organised walks around
the beautiful Sevenoaks countryside.
Every year Friends of Sevenoaks funds projects
to support the education of Sevenoaks School
students, such as the new wellbeing garden and a
bursary for a day pupil. The uniform shop and lost
property are professionally and efficiently manned
by a group of FoS volunteers who are always happy
to help parents and students alike.
FoS would not be such a successful and friendly
institution without the help and dedication of its
Co-Chairs, Emma Kutchera and Clare Scott, its
Treasurer, Sue Newman, and of course all the year
group social coordinators and volunteers who work
tirelessly throughout the year to make FoS such
a special and much appreciated entity. The school
is extremely grateful for their generous time and
commitment. May the 2019-20 academic year be
another terrific year for FoS, culminating in the
ever-popular biennial summer ball in May 2020.
