Old Sennockian
Football Club
OSFC had a mixed season in Arthurian League Division
3, finishing seventh out of ten teams. A goal difference
of minus one showed how close many of their games
had been. OSFC’s captain, Jamie Dunnett (OS 2006),
had an excellent season leading from the front in all
games and showing huge commitment to the team on
and off the field.
Old Sennockian Football Club versus
the school 1st XI
On Thursday 24 May OSFC played the school
1st XI on a beautiful early summer evening on Duke’s

Old Guard rugby tour
to Brussels
The Old Guard group of Old Sennockian rugby players
took part in the Brussels Sevens rugby tournament
on Saturday 30 June. Thirty-one players travelled to
Brussels playing in three teams. The weather was very
hot, the pitch was very hard and the opposition were
very good. The Old Guard’s First VII played well and
were unlucky not to progress into the final stages of
the competition. Matthew Newman (OS 2006) was
the tour captain and played outstandingly well, as did
the First VII’s player of the tournament, Rory Dunnett
(OS 2010).

game remained goalless until deep into the second
half when Michael Thompson (OS 2014) broke the
deadlock with a fine right-foot strike. This enjoyable
game finished 1-0 to OSFC, but a draw would have
been a fairer result.
Old Sennockian Five-a-Side
Football competition
This year’s five-a-side tournament (pictured above)
took place on Saturday 5 May. Eleven teams played in
two leagues giving four semi-final teams. The teams
of Richard Verrall (OS 2011) and Jeremy Gould (OS
1989) played in the final. In the end Team Verrall were
worthy winners. One fact – the age spread in the
competition was 17 to 55!
