She was crowned Varsity Duathlon Champion and awarded a Full Blue. She is currently training to become a solicitor. While at Sevenoaks, Kate was selected for the British Youth Triathlon Team, and competed for GB at the Duathlon World Championships. She continues to race and hopes to qualify for the World Ironman 70.3 championships in 2019. S evenoaks S chool Foundation The changes seen at Sevenoaks School over the past decade would not have been possible without a thriving culture of philanthropy and support throughout the school community. The shared vision and commitment to the advancement of Sevenoaks School led by the Foundation, our benefactors and supporters will continue to transform the school, benefiting students today and in generations to come. The School Governors are committed to maintaining the highest educational standards, funded, in large part, through tuition and boarding fees. We are also immensely grateful to all donors who have given their support in many ways. The Foundation Trustees, as custodians of that philanthropy, take great care to ensure gifts are directed to the purpose for which they were intended. Together we have created an inspiring teaching and learning environment for Science and Technology. We have brought together all three Sciences and Technology into a unified space. Tim Ronalds Architects have carefully crafted an environment 102 A D VA N C E M E N T designed to cultivate curiosity and enquiry. We hope this will encourage the next generation of scientists. In the coming year our focus will continue to be centred on providing the best resources and support for the new Science and Technology and Global Study centres as well as increasing support for bursaries. In this respect we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing academically talented young people from financially and socially disadvantaged circumstances the transforming opportunity of a Sevenoaks education. Special recognition must go to Andy Burton, former Bursar, who delayed his retirement to serve as Capital Projects Manager on these landmark projects. We are greatly indebted to him for his great professionalism and commitment to ensuring the project was completed in time for the Michaelmas term 2018. On behalf of the Foundation and school I offer Andy our sincere thanks and wish him and his wife Sheila all the very best for the future. Michael Joyce Executive Director of Advancement What’s next? The Head, School Governors and Foundation Trustees have agreed ambitious plans for the next development phase to 2032, when the school will mark its 600th anniversary. These ambitions will strengthen Sevenoaks School’s broad education across academic, co-curricular, pastoral and service platforms. We will only achieve this through committed partnerships between the school, the Foundation and our community of parents and Old Sennockians. Your philanthropic support is vital to achieving the best. I hope you will join us.
