The Wardrobe
The main plot of The Wardrobe, by Sam Holcroft, shows the audience how an antique, walk-in wardrobe is passed down through the centuries, by showing small sections from the lives of different historical figures which happened in the wardrobe. One scene, for example, told how it was owned by Elizabeth of York before she married Henry VII and in the scene she faced the dilemma of marrying a man she did not like.
The play was a combination of funny, sensitive and emotional atmospheres, which were all equally gripping and told the story well. The acting was very good. The costumes were exceptional and so was the make-up, which at points made me believe that the fake wounds were real. I thoroughly enjoyed the show.
