The SSTC Lower School production
The Lower School production this year consisted of two short plays, performed by different casts, which included a variety of highly accomplished performances ranging from solo to ensemble work, to choreography and live music. We asked two students, one from each cast, to review the other’ s play.
Mobile Phone Show
Mobile Phone Show – written by the acclaimed Jim Cartwright – was performed by the Sevenoaks Lower School, as part of a double bill with The Wardrobe. The play tackles and addresses the subject of the use of mobile phones in our modern generation( for example, how attached we get to them, how people who do not own a phone get cut off from society, etc). The play featured incredible visual and audio effects that brought it to life, and really amplified the whole plot and characters’ motives. The play also featured direct interaction with the audience.
The acting in this production was top-notch, and each character delivered their line at a perfect volume, and with realism and credibility. Whilst the whole cast acted to an incredibly high standard, some performances that really stood out were those of Tabitha Bolter and Fred McGahan, along with Ece Tumer, Rosie White-Belchere and Kseniya Loktyeva.
