Under 16 national and
international champions
The 1st team had a strong year, finishing second
overall at the U19 Youth Team Racing Championships
in October and runners-up at the South East Area
Championships. The Summer term culminated with
them finishing as runners-up in the British Schools
National and International Championships at the
end of June, where they lost out to a very strong
Winchester team.
The U16 team finished fourth at the Junior Team
Racing Championships where they were comfortably
the top-placed school team. They then secured
the U16 title at the British Schools National and
International Championships.
Another standout success was the ladies’ team that
claimed the U19 Ladies National Championship title
back in February.

SPORT REVIEW
Our younger sailors have also been competing on
the RS Feva Circuit with six boats attending the
World Championships in Holland in July where Josh
Davies sailing with Ian Ratnage, and Anne-Marie
Ratnage sailing with Alice Parker qualified for the Gold
League. Anne-Marie and Alice were also first girls at
the RS Feva Winter and Spring Championships. Becky
Caiger, still only in Year 8, was first girl (sailing with
her partner from another school) in the RS Feva UK
Nationals and second at the RS Feva World Champs –
she has also just finished as first girl and eighth overall
in the RS Tera Nationals, which is single handed.
William Caiger finished seventh out of over 100 boats
at Itchenor Schools Week and currently lies fourth
in the Eurocup series. Other sailors competing on
the international stage were Nicholas Davies who
represented Switzerland in the Laser radial class and
Cossie Lewis who was selected for the GBR 420 team.

2017 saw the introduction of a Cricket League
involving Eltham College, Judd, Reigate GS, Sutton
Valence and Sevenoaks at 1st, 2nd, U15A/B and
U14A/B levels. The intention of this format is to
provide teams with sustained focus during exam
season. Reigate were the overall winners while
Sevenoaks won the U14A section. U13A: team of the season
