Visit to St Clere
Our guided visit to St Clere, an elegant estate on the
outskirts of nearby Kemsing, was a great success. Eliza
Ecclestone (OS 1991 and School Governor) talked to us
about the history and management of St Clere, and her
estate foreman led a tour of the gardens. We were blessed
with a stunningly sunny day to explore secret pathways,
ancient yews, herbaceous borders and rare shrubs before
being welcomed to the dining room for a very tasty lunch.
We very much look forward to our next visit.
The Sevenoaks School Foundation Arts Society is a
cultural, social and educational society for current
parents, former parents, Old Sennockians and staff
of Sevenoaks School.
The aim of the Arts Society is to encourage good
relations between all those who have an interest
in the school, and to provide the opportunity for
members to meet and attend various trips and social
events together, often over coffee, pre-theatre drinks,
breakfast or lunch. During the past year we have
organised 25 visits to art exhibitions with private
introductory lectures, Blue Badge guided walks,
London theatre and homes and gardens.
As a group we have access to discounted tickets to
both matinée and evening theatre performances and
tours of private historic homes and gardens which are
otherwise inaccessible to the public.
We look forward to welcoming all friends of Sevenoaks
School on our future trips, details of which can be
found on the Arts Society website.
