Our pupils and teachers can be very pleased with our strongest ever set of examination results. The Upper Sixth achieved our highest ever proportion of top grades at Higher Level – over 89 per cent of Higher Level subjects were graded 7 or 6. The overall IB average stands at a phenomenal 40.6, well ahead of 2011’ s previous record of 39.9.
Twenty-four students achieved the maximum of 45 points – the previous record was 14 – with 143 students gaining diplomas of 40 or more points. While IB league tables do not take into account cohort size, it is fair to say that our results are among the best in the world, as no other school comes close to achieving such impressive results with such a large number of students.
Year 11 impressed similarly. Their overall scores are an improvement on last year’ s, while being overall our second best by some distance: 74 per cent of entries were graded A *, and 94 per cent were graded A * or A. Over a third of the year group, 60 students, gained ten or more A * s.
