The construction of the new Science and Technology Centre and Sixth Form Global Study Centre began in autumn 2016. S ite tours Staff, students and parents have been keenly watching the progress of the new buildings, which by the summer were sufficiently advanced to enable a series of hard hat tours guided by project manager Andy Burton. We have been delighted with the response from the school community who are immensely supportive of our vision to transform STEM and IB education at Sevenoaks. This year has seen us take great strides in turning our vision into reality and as the year ends we are on the brink of a remarkable accomplishment. We will continue to seek the support of the school community over the coming year to raise £1.6 million; this will ensure our students have the innovative technology and high specification resources required for a 21st century education. If you would like to support STEM or bursaries please get in touch with Laura Holmes, Associate Director, the Development Office. The space is phenomenal, the care and attention to detail is second to none. Not only Sevenoaks students, but the local community and wider industry partners will benefit from this outstanding facility. It will create an inspiring teaching and learning environment, putting Sevenoaks School firmly on the map as a forward-thinking enterprise, whilst nurturing the next generation of scientists! Having two children at Sevenoaks I feel incredibly lucky that both of them will benefit from this amazing space. I know that they will be taking advantage of a state-of-the-art facility which will nurture the interest they already have in science, technology and mathematics. By bringing together the four fields the school will provide an integrated learning environment to inspire and excite students. As our children progress through the school, the new Sixth Form Centre beckons them towards what the future holds, and they are fortunate to have a space dedicated to them as they move towards the next exciting stage of their journey.
