Looking F orward Our benefactors, through their philanthropy, play a key role in helping the school realise its educational vision, funding bursaries, new facilities, and our three Institutes. The generosity and support of parents and Old Sennockians enables us to remain at the forefront of secondary education. The Campaign for Sevenoaks School On behalf of the school and the Foundation I offer sincere thanks and appreciation to every donor for their philanthropic commitment to the advancement of the school. The Campaign for Sevenoaks School was launched in April 2016, having amassed over £7 million in early donations and pledges. The campaign has raised in excess of £12 million in total, of a £15 million target. This academic year our goal is to raise a further £1.6 million in support of the new Science and Technology Centre and Sixth Form Global Study Centre and £1.4 million for bursaries. Science and Technology Centre and Sixth Form Global Study Centre The construction of the new Science and Technology Centre and Sixth Form Global Study Centre began in autumn 2016 and the builders, Gilbert Ash, are on track to deliver the project by summer 2018. Donations to this landmark project in the coming year will help us to fit out more than 20 labs and classrooms with advanced technology and equipment that will enable our students and teachers to explore the open frontier of science. Bursary programme The school’s bursary programme continues to create access to a Sevenoaks School education for academically talented students from financially disadvantaged circumstances. Over the past year more than 30 students were in receipt of a full bursary. A recent leaver from this programme achieved an outstanding IB Diploma score and is now studying at Cambridge. Institute of Teaching and Learning A leadership gift of £1 million was announced in February 2017 for the new Institute of Teaching and Learning. This gift will support a wide range of programmes and activities over the next four years, including fellowships, an ideas lab and a biennial academic conference. The collective generosity of our community has a huge impact on all that we are trying to achieve and makes a real difference to every student. Thank you, once again, to our donors for your continuing support and commitment to the advancement of Sevenoaks School.
