Maize, Kan. – “All of our kids graduated from HS where they were really busy and had jobs mapped out and then
the economy happened,” said Joanna Kilgore, one of four Moxi Junction founders.
By using real dishes, a face-to-face drive-thru and an open social environment, there will be plenty of work to do
for the special employees of Moxi Junction.
Moxi Junction, the new Maize coffee shop, was founded by four “Mothers Of eXceptional Individuals.” Joanna
Kilgore, Pat Leon, Kate Scheer and Scarlett Tully started Moxi Junction to create jobs for their special needs children after
high school.
With daily fresh baked goods, various kinds of superior coffee and delightful specialty drinks, Moxi Junction is
guaranteeing a reason to get up in the morning. Made to look like grandma’s house, where everyone is welcome, Moxi
Junction’s interior makes for a warm, comfortable atmosphere with a personal experience.
The Moxi moms have a goal to make this one of the best coffee shops in Kansas. The Moxi moms, all trained
baristas, buy their high quality coffee from a Michigan coffee roaster. They had to build a house for coffee this good.
Moxi Junction will have a soft opening in late spring and have a large grand opening in August, just in time to kick
off a new school year.
