is cooking . . . it tastes
better,” she said with
a grin.
Indulging her favourite
pastime though, she
decided to enroll in free
art classes at the centre,
which were taught by
local artist Jeanette
Campbell, who had many
seniors attending for
several weeks.
Over the years Norma
has made a lot of friends
at the centre, many
of whom live in her
apartment building.
“Quite a lot of us from
this building go over to
the centre,” she said.

With Christmas just
around the corner, Norma
will not be alone. She
will be spending it with
family. The fact she has
13 grandchildren and 10
great-great grandchildren
makes it even more
special although she is
not sure she will get to
see them all.
“I usually spend
Christmas with Joan,
”
she said smiling.
And she never misses
the Christmas dinner at
the Campbellford Seniors’
Centre, a highlight of the
season for many there.
