Seniors’ Club Members Have Become
Like Family For Faye McKelvie
BY SUE DICKENS
Faye McKelvie says family means
everything to her and the friends
she has made at the Campbellford
Senior Citizens’ Club have become
like family to her too.
She talked about how the joy
her two sons and their families,
seven grandchildren and 11 great
grandchildren bring her every day.
Faye also said at the spry age of
90, joining the club has given her a
chance to enjoy the many activities,
renew acquaintances with old
friends and make new ones.
“I am a life member of the Seymour
West Women’s Institute and I am
now playing cards with some of
those same members who are
members of the Campbellford
seniors’ centre today,” she said
smiling.
“I always look forward to going
to the centre and meeting all the
friends my late husband Bill and
I got to know over the years. We
always enjoyed our day away from
our farm and it was always a fun
time,” she commented. And Faye
continues to enjoy those friends.
“I lost my husband Bill in 2009 and
miss him greatly. We had many nice
trips and fun times together. We
were married 62 years,” Faye said.

as long as I am able,” she said with
determination.
“My husband Bill and I played
shuffleboard a lot. I am not able to
play shuffleboard now but I sure
enjoy cribbage and bid euchre and
all the new folks I have met. They are
all so friendly,” said Faye grinning.
