Pendley not only plans day trips but also tries to plan overnight trips once or twice a year . The senior adults have been to Gettysburg , Pa ., for a tour of the battlefield ;

Washington , D . C ., as well as Newport , Ind . Some of the trips are purely recreationally based like shopping trips but some are more about learning about community and culture .
Smith enjoys the trips to the Lexington area horse farms and Stepp ’ s favorite trip was to Gettysburg , Pa ., but she also enjoyed a trip to Russell County where Pendley showed the group barns that were built using pegs .
