Pickleball is designed to be carefree and to be a load of fun . David Dorsey -- Parks Director for the City of Somerset Parks and Recreation Department -- pointed out that Mr . Taylor and his friends have been playing at Rocky Hollow for over a year now , and are seemingly having a great time each time they take to the courts .
“ People started playing Pickleball here at Rocky Hollow about a year to a year and a half ago , and it ’ s picked up in popularity since they began playing here ,” stated Dorsey .
“ They seem to have fun , especially some of the older players , but there are some younger kids that play as well ,” Dorsey added . “ We ’ re happy to have them .”
Besides Rocky Hollow , players have three courts available at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church , but Taylor says he is hopeful there will be more courts built in our community in the future as the sport continues to grow in popularity .
