Area ’ s latest sports craze
It ’ s a sport that has exploded across the United States , especially over the past 30 years , and it continues to see more and more people participating , seemingly with each passing day .
What is it ? It ’ s the sport called Pickleball , and it ’ s quickly becoming one of the most popular -- if not the most played -- sport in America . And , Pickleball has become a sport that has become the thing to do for exercise , especially for our senior citizen population .
Also , before you think it ’ s only played on the east coast or the west coast , think again . Pickleball is alive and well right here in Somerset , Kentucky .
Anywhere from a dozen to up to 16 players come to play Pickleball at The Rocky Hollow Complex every Wednesday and Friday morning , playing the sport they love , while staying in shape and socializing with their friends . Simply , regardless of the results on the playing surface , it ’ s a win-win for everyone involved .
