The Class of 2021 is the last class to have grown up with former theology teacher Mr . Hickey . From 20 quizzes a day to relaxed Mookie Mondays , Mr . Hickey is close to the hearts of many of the Seniors . One of the various life lessons he bestowed upon us is that your four years here pass by way too quickly . Sitting down and writing this letter is making us come to terms with how correct he was .
Experiencing these four years alongside the rest of the students in the Senior class was really something special . When people talk about the Brotherhood that comes with going to Brother Rice , it is no joke . Going to school every single day , talking with other students , and living the Brother Rice experience are all very important things that solidify the Brotherhood between all of the students in all grade levels and generations . The students and the culture of this school are completely incomparable to any other school in the United States . There are four pillars of Rice , but there is one founding principle that pulls them all together : Brotherhood .
To the Juniors , take advantage of the time that you have left here . Know that there is never enough time . You are a part of something truly special , and you are going to have the time of your lives next year . Make bonds with the people around

you because those bonds will last a lifetime . Try to remove yourself from all the stress and just live to the fullest . Senior year is supposed to be fun , so make it exactly that , because it goes by so fast .
To the Sophomores , Junior year will be

your absolute hardest year here . You will want to work as hard as you can and get the best grades possible in order to get into your dream college , so push yourself . Work hard to impress those around you , like your teachers and your parents . Trust us , all the work that you put into next year will pay off 100 percent and you will be proud of yourself at the end of it all . To the Freshman , put yourself out
there . Be different than the individuals who surround you . Become a leader among your peers and try things that take you outside of your comfort zone , whether it be trying a new sport , starting a club , or simply taking a class that you may think is too hard for you . With determination and confidence , you will get through all of it .
And to the Seniors , we hope to see you all again . Together , we ’ ve created countless memories that we will cherish forever . The people in this class have touched our hearts in ways that no one else has . We have learned a lot at Brother Rice in our four years here , whether it be how to cram SparkNotes to prepare for one of Mr . Kase ’ s quote quizzes or how to find the best clothes at thrift stores for sporting events . But one of the most important things that we have learned at this school is the Brotherhood . We can say in all honesty that each and every one in the Senior class is our
Brother in one way or another .
Moving forward , remember the lessons that you have learned at Brother Rice and hold true the values that you have learned here .
Most importantly , Live Jesus in Our Hearts , Forever .
