CANON VIRGINIA
As a precision manufacturer of laser jet printer cartridges , Canon Virginia uses cutting-edge technology to produce a laser cartridge every few seconds . During the assembly process lubricant is applied to drive gears to reduce friction . At times , air bubbles get into the lubricant tubing , causing down time . Students were challenged to create a system that is capable of quickly and accurately detecting air bubbles In the system and eliminating them from the supply tubing automatically , and with minimal loss of lubricant and easy cleanup .
