As we work toward providing engaging, collaborative, and realistic projects
for our student engineers, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at
Virginia Tech is expanding its collaboration and involvement with corporate
partnerships. Students who have the opportunity to be involved in senior
capstone projects with corporate partnerships receive not only mentorship
from active engineers, but also get a first-hand look at how interactions with
customers, budgets, and deadlines affect the design and construction process.
Every year I am proud and humbled by the excellent work produced by our future
engineers and every year more corporate partners are realizing the value and
utility of a Virginia Tech Mechanical Engineering partnership.
