Elders Nest adult family homes open in
Waverly Monday, June 1

Michael and Cherene Beatty are bringing a new kind
of family-friendly assisted living home to Waverly.
The Beattys own The Elders Nest, LLC, and operate
assisted living homes in Washington state. Two Elders
Nest homes are slated to open in Waverly Monday, June
1.
Elders Nest homes feature six private bedrooms, and
have 24/7 staff in addition to a live-in resident manager.
“Our caregivers have time to spend, one-on-one with
the residents, visiting, doing crafts, taking them outside
in the sun, etc.,” said Cherene.
A commitment to residents’ comfort and conve-
nience is paramount to the Beattys.“The Elders Nest
policy is to avoid rigid schedules for our residents,” Mi-
chael said. “Breakfast happens here, all morning long.
Residents who sleep longer in the morning are allowed
to do so, and their breakfast is prepared once they get
up. We try to have a supper for everyone near the same
time in the evening to encourage companionship be-
tween the residents.”
Meals follow the family-style
concept. The Beattys pride them-
selves that no “cafeteria-style
food” will be found at The Elders
Nest.
Visitors are important at The
Elders Nest. The Beattys encour-
age staff to greet residents, family,
friends, and visitors by name when
they come in the door.
“There are no strangers here,”
Cherene assured. “Coffee and
snacks are always available for
visitors, and family dinners are
frequently held for family and
friends of our residents.”
