ICYMI In Case You Missed It! The Hard Rock Girls Blackjack Pit Grand Opening Last month, we celebrated the grand opening of the world’s first Hard Rock Girls Blackjack Pit on the casino floor. Prior to dealing the first hand of blackjack in the new pit, which is located outside Hard Rock Cafe, there was a red carpet walk featuring various local celebrities, including former Bachelor Pad Season 3 winner Nick Peterson and America’s Got Talent Season 9 contestant Justin Rhodes. Laura Harris, Nick Peterson and Justin Rhodes One hundred percent of the winning proceeds from the first hand of blackjack was donated to Voices for Children, a Tampa Baybased charity that provides support and advocacy for abused, neglected and abandoned children within the community. General Manager Pete Wu with Hard Rock Girls Cassey and Crystal Brittany Local celebrities, Orlando Davis and Laura Harris joined Peterson and Rhodes for a hand of blackjack and each won their $100 bets. The table raised a total of $800 and the casino continued to raise funds and awareness during the month of February. A Celebration for the Year of the Goat: Chinese Lunar New Year Cut sprays of plum blossoms represent beauty and the hope for a fruitful and a good year. • Chinese Red Lanterns During Chinese New Year it is not uncommon to see lanterns hung on trees in the streets, office buildings, and doors of houses. Hanging a red lantern in front of the door is believed to drive off bad luck. • The Golden Goat The Goat comes 8th in the Chinese zodiac. The 12 zodiac animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Goats are described as loving-peace and “kind” and “popular.” Golden Goat Statue at Hard Rock Tampa The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa held a memorable celebration for the Chinese Lunar New Year, Year of the Goat Celebration. Festive, yet symbolic, the flashy decorations included lucky money cherry blossom trees, a Golden Goat and red lanterns that graced the property throughout to celebrate the commemorative Year of the Goat. Now we are all ready to prance out of last year with the horse and gallop into the New Year with the Goat. All those who were at the casino for the celebration were able to experience Chinese Lion and Dragon Dancers who were festively parading during the authentic nightly performances. Limited edition gaming casino chips were elegantly designed and presented to applicable guests as a token of appreciation for the New Year.
