Jason Bonham's
Led Zeppelin Experience
Returns to Hard Rock Live • June 8 | 8pm
Jason Bonham, British drummer and son of legendary
Led Zeppelin drummer, John Bonham – keeps his father’s
memory alive through the band Jason Bonham’s Led
Zeppelin Experience’s music. Jason inherited his father’s
musical talent and skill – at just five years old he was
playing the drums. At 17, he was a member of the band
Air Race – which signed a record contract with Atlantic
Records and opened for big names like AC/DC, Queen,
Meat Loaf and Ted Nugent.
By 1989, he completed the album The Disregard of
Timekeeping, in his new band called Bonham; the track
"Wait for You," earned him a gold record. In 1993, Jason
teamed up with greats like Paul Rodgers, Slash, David
Gilmour and Jeff Beck, amongst others to work on the
album Muddy Water Blues: A Tribute To Muddy Waters
which was nominated for a Grammy Award. A year later,
Jason appeared at Woodstock II along with Rodgers and
Slash. That same year, he recorded a new album, Peace 4
Me, in his group now known as Motherland.
Jason represented his father when Led Zeppelin was
inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. Soon
after, he released the cd In the Name of My Father - The
Zepset, which featured the songs of Led Zeppelin.
In 2007, Jason played drums in the most anticipated
concert of all time - the Led Zeppelin reunion at London's
O2 arena with surviving members Jimmy Page, John Paul
Jones and Robert Plant.
Bonham formed Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience
as a live homage to his father's band. The band is set
to perform at Hard Rock Live on Wednesday, June 8,
encompassing hits from the iconic band, including
albums Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin IV and
Physical Graffiti.
The concert event celebrates the life and music of John
Bonham. “It’s part storyteller, with using the multimedia
screens and things, we’re creating little pieces which I will
narrate over, which give some little background over some
songs we play and the reason why I’m playing them,” said
Jason Bonham, “There are stories of myself growing up
with dad and how Zeppelin has been, you know, part of
my life from the beginning.”
