Q&A
with
Susan Renneisen
Vice President of Community Affairs and Special Events
Q: How long have you been at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood?
I started with Seminole Hard Rock almost 13 years ago, working as part of
the pre-opening team. One of the most exciting ventures ever!
Q: Where did you get your start in the Hospitality industry?
My hotel career started in 1970 at the Philadelphia Sheraton. I pre-opened
my first casino in Atlantic City in 1979 and have not looked back.
Q: What is your favorite part about being Vice President of
Community Affairs & Special Events?
Every day at the Hard Rock is something new and exciting. I'm never bored,
always learning and excited for the next challenge. I wear two hats: The first
is creating world-class events and parties for our customers and the second
is representing our brand in the community by overseeing sponsorships. I
get to be on the front line of giving back and being part of so many amazing
charitable organizations. It does not get better than that!
Q: What did you aspire to be
growing up?
My dream was always to be a singer. Rock,
country, soul, blues … I just love music and performing. Unfortunately, I
can’t sing! But, how lucky am I to work for a company that is all about the
music. I have lived vicariously through many concerts and have worked
with some of the top performers in the world.
Q: Who is your favorite music artist?
If forced to pick just one, it would be Carlos Santana. The strings of his
guitar are connected directly to my soul. I am also a huge blues fan. And
Paul McCartney, who doesn’t like the Beatles? Bruce Springsteen, Garth
Brooks, Frank Sinatra, Flo-Rida, Bruno Mars, Pitbull and Bocelli. The list is
endless. Music can dictate my mood, or change my mood. I love it all.
Q: What do you like to do on your off time?
Entertain friends in my backyard. It’s removed, relaxed, and welcoming –
our “happy place.”
Q: What is one thing some people might not know about you?
I was a twin.
