SINOPSE / SYNOPSIS
Um dia divertido num safári em algum lugar
da África do Sul: o bagageiro Jacob sonha
que mata um leopardo com as próprias mãos,
Anthea tenta limpar um chalé isolado, Cosmas
varre folhas sob a árvore com sinal de celular
enquanto escuta as conversas dos turistas
e Ndu é um guia-florestal num safári onde
não tem bicho nenhum. Shaka, um dançarino
Zulu, quer atuar numa peça de Shakespeare,
enquanto Thando, sua namorada, lhe diz umas
verdades sobre a vida.
A fun day at a safari park somewhere in South
Africa: Jacob the porter dreamt he killed a
leopard with his bare hands, Anthea tries to
clean an isolated chalet, Cosmas sweeps leaves
under the tree with cellular reception while
listening to tourist’s conversations and Ndu is a
game ranger on a safari where no animals can
be found. Shaka, a Zulu performer, wants to do
Shakespeare while Thando, his girlfriend, tells
him the facts of life.

Samantha é roteirista, diretora e produtora
sul-africana. Dirigiu curtas como Stiff (2012),
Tortoise (2014) and Love Motel (2015).
Michael nasceu no Uruguai, cresceu em
Israel e vive em São Paulo desde 2004. Seu
primeiro curta, Avós (2010), foi exibido no
Festival de Berlim. Avanti Popolo (2013),
seu longa de estreia, recebeu os prêmios
de melhor filme no Festival de Roma, na
Semana; melhor diretor em FICUNAM,
melhor diretor e prêmio da crítica no Festival
de Brasília.

Samantha is a South African writer, director,
and producer. She directed shorts such as Stiff
(2012), Tortoise (2014) and Love Motel (2015).
Michael born in Uruguay, grew up in Israel,
and lives in São Paulo. He’s debut short film,
Grandmothers (2010) was premiered at the 60˚
Berlinale. Avanti Popolo (2013), his first feature
film, won the Best Film Award at the Rome
Film Festival; Best Director at FICUNAM, Best
Director and Critics Award at Brasilia
Film Festival.
