SINOPSE / SYNOPSIS
Um filme-poema em 18 ondas; 18 cenas
que descrevem Paris. Paisagem urbana
atravessada por um menor de idade
estrangeiro e desacompanhado, atingida por
ataques terroristas, rosas brancas, estado de
emergência, vermelho, branco e azul, o oceano
Atlântico e cruzamentos transatlânticos,
vulcões, beatboxing, rebeliões, raiva, violência
estatal, uma música revolucionária, silêncio e
alegria ... nada mais que alegria.
A film/poem in 18 waves, featuring 18 scenes
that describe Paris and its cityscape, which is
traversed by a “young unaccompanied foreign
minor” and shot through with terrorist attacks,
white roses, a state of emergency, red, white
and blue, the Atlantic Ocean and transatlantic
crossings, volcanoes, beatboxing, rebellion,
rage, State violence, a revolutionary song,
silence and joy… nothing more than joy.
BIOGRAFIA / BIOGRAPHY
Nasceu em 1968, na França. Estudou filosofia,
ciências políticas e direito antes de se tornar
cineasta aos 38 anos. Distante do usual
sentimentalismo acrítico empregado ao
cinema social, o trabalho de George combina
a militância a um voo de realismo documental.
É diretor de filmes como L’impossible
(FIDMarseille 2009), Qu'ils reposent en
révolte (FIDMarseille 2010) e Vers Madrid: The
Burning Bright (2014).

Born in 1968 in France. He studied philosophy,
political science and law before becoming a
director at the age of 38. Far removed from
any ‘tics’ of social cinema loaded with uncritical
sentimentalism, George’s work combines
militancy with a flight from documentary
realism. He directed films such as L’impossible
(FIDMarseille 2009), Qu'ils reposent en révolte
(FIDMarseille 2010) and Vers Madrid: The
Burning Bright (2014).
