SINOPSE / SYNOPSIS
Tendo a seu fundo uma concha acústica em
desuso, Marie Carangi, produz sons em um
teremim com o movimento de seus seios.
Ressaltando a dimensão utópica e falida de
um projeto de modernidade impresso na
arquitetura, o filme confronta e subverte o
branco da concha com o negro do corpo e das
vestimentas da artista; o silêncio e o vazio da
concha com o som eletrônico provocado por
suas tetas.
Having at background an acoustic shell stage
in disuse, Marie Carangi, produces sounds in
a theremin with the movement of her breasts.
Emphasizing the utopian and bankrupt
dimension of a project of modernity printed in
architecture, the film confronts and subverts
the white of the shell with the black of the body
and the dress of the artist; the silence and the
emptiness of the shell with the electronic sound
provoked by her teats.
BIOGRAFIA / BIOGRAPHY
Nasceu em 1989, vive e trabalha em Recife.
Graduada em arquitetura e urbanismo,
trabalha com performance, vídeo e instalação.
Seu primeiro trabalho, realizado no mesmo
período em que a artista resolveu assumir seu
cabelo crespo, era uma “performance-serviço”
chamada Peluqueria Carangi. Participou de
residências no Brasil e no exterior e já expôs
na Galeria MauMau-PE, no Centro Cultural
São Paulo-SP, e no Galpão Bela Maré, RJ.

Born in 1989, she lives and works in Recife.
She graduated in architecture and urbanism,
works with performance, video and installation.
Her first work, performed in the same period
in which the artist decided to wear her curly
hair proudly, was a "service-performance"
called Peluqueria Carangi. She has participated
in residencies in Brazil and abroad and has
exhibited at Galeria MauMau-PE, at Centro
Cultural São Paulo-SP, and at Galpão Bela
Maré, RJ.
