SINOPSE / SYNOPSIS
Jussaras e Guaracys aceitam seus santos
e emanam suas bênçãos seguindo impulsos
sexo-sonoros. Opondo em seu título o ápice
do racionalismo modernista brasileiro (as
superquadras de Brasília) e um personagem
de nosso folclore associado à desordem e
ao irracional, o filme propõe uma utopia
fantástica surgida do fracasso da utopia
moderna.
Jussaras and Guaracys accept their saints and
emanate their blessings following sonic-sexual
impulses. Opposing in its title the apex of the
Brazilian modernist rationalism movements
(the megablocks of Brasília) and a character
out of our folklore, commonly associated with
disorder and the irrational, the film proposes a
fantastic utopia arisen from the failure of the
modern utopia.
BIOGRAFIA / BIOGRAPHY
Nasceu em 1975, vive e trabalha em
Recife. Recorrendo a diferentes suportes e
procedimentos como ações públicas, vídeo,
performances, fotografias, desenhos, gravuras
e esculturas, interessa ao artista o que está
distante, escondido, excluído, embaixo da
terra. Fatos sobrenaturais, corpos magnéticos,
registros sutis da existência corpórea, sacis,
raios de luz e habitantes fora do plano. Já teve
trabalhos expostos nas Bienais de São Paulo e
do Mercosul, no New Museum (NY).

Born in 1975, he lives and works in Recife.
Drawing from different supports and
procedures such as public actions, videos,
performances, photographs, drawings,
engravings and sculptures, the artist is
interested in what is distant, hidden, excluded,
underground. Supernatural facts, magnetic
bodies, subtle records of corporeal existence,
magic creatures, light rays, and out-of-plane
inhabitants. He has already exhibited works at
the Biennials of São Paulo and Mercosul, as
well as on New Museum (NY).
