Both the music and the poem reflect how stress relieving is done. Yet, self-injuring is a negative way of stress. With homework, academics, relationships, and body image, it might seem almost impossible to maintain stress. There are many ways to cope with stress, which could cause self-injury.
Examples include:
*Sports
*Instruments
*Listening to music
*Being with friends
*Talking to a trusted adult
While many of us don't self-injure, the problem may arise that someone we know is. In order to help people who self injure, we have to aknowledge the problem. Talking tot he person about the problem will make them feel better, especially if you empathize. Empathy is the ability to "Climb into his skin and walk around in it." This means that you have'nt experienced it, but you consider their prespective. Also, try recommending an engaging activity for that person, such as a sport or drawing. If more people learned how to positively deal with stress, and others helped instead of judging people, the problem of self-injury would be solved.
