PANTONE COLOR INSTITUTE Get ready to spice up your home with these delicious 2019 colors. With 72 forecasted hues, a preview of two palettes, Cravings and Classico, show that a delightful range of spicy and modern is projected for 2019. Cravings, inspired by “fetish foods” ring of deep rich colors like Cayenne and Cappuccino. Classico provides a more everlasting and elegant undertone of Apricot Brandy and Rich Gold, reflecting elements of beautiful sunsets and the coast. They’ve also listed their Color of the Year for 2019 as the “vibrant yet mellow” hue, “Living Coral,” representing “the fusion of modern life.” Pantone said it selected Living Coral as a way to “remind people of the desired, familiar, and energizing aspects of color found in nature.” SHERWIN-WILLIAMS The paint company released their 42-color palette broken up into six themes. They are introducing more popping color to offset the minimalism trend of previous years. Expect to see more earthy tones like leafy green and dark mushroom in the kitchen and dining room. The themes are broken up by mystical blue “Shapeshifter,” earthy brown “Wanderer,” copper and gold “Aficionado,” bold red and green “Enthusiast,” sophisticated botanical pink “Naturalist,” and muted mauve “Raconteur.” There’s a theme for everyone. BEHR The paint company named its 2019 Color of the Year “Blueprint.” A rich mid-tone blue, this hue will match with the 2018’s jewel-toned colors. A classic and yet dark color, this warmer than denim blue will be easy to match with varying color combinations and on home accessories. SELECT LIVING - 7 -
