The Heffelfinger Farm went from a destination you could come cut down your own Christmas tree and pick up a handmade wreath to a place where families could enjoy country Christmas activities . The eastern Pulaski County tree farm now offers a large variety of pre-cut trees , which includes Fraser Fir , Noble Fir and Nordmann Fir . Tucked away in a rustic hand-made barn , the farm features many locally made crafts and greenery , including garland , wreaths and swags .
Besides the homemade crafted holiday
gifts , Heffelfinger Tree Farm offers many other family fun activities including hay rides , a petting zoo , children games , sleigh family photo sessions , and a campfire with S ’ mores .
With both Melissa and Jon Heffelfinger having full-time careers outside their holiday gig , making money was never their motivation for the one-month family business .
“ I guess for us it was more about sharing our farm and family Christmas traditions with others ,” stated Melissa Heffelfinger . “ We offer all kinds of family activities for free . We are perfectly happy if families just want to come and hang
out for the evening .”
The Heffelfinger couple also noticed a positive change in how their kids interacted with other people during this month-long holiday business .
“ Our oldest son does a lot of physical labor in helping us with the upkeep of the property ,” Jon Heffelfinger stated . ” The younger children , Conor and Maggie , have been a great help with talking to customers and explaining what we have to offer . Maggie is great working with the younger kids with our various games and activities .”
Besides their immediate family , the Heffelfingers have been aided by family ,
