when we didn ’ t really have a lot of answers . We didn ’ t have a lot of tools . We really didn ’ t know what we were all dealing with .
“ They stepped in there and were courageous to take care of people during a scary time . I hope we never lose sight of that . It ’ s sometimes easy to move on , and our memories are not as vivid of what all of the country went through , so , particularly those groups of people , we always want to say ‘ Thank you ’ to them .”
So what does the post-pandemic future hold for LCRH ? Parker said the hospital has a lot of upcoming projects to look out for .
“ We just announced a complete renovation of our behavioral health unit upstairs ,” he said . “ We ’ re in the process of rebranding that whole service line for the community . More news to come on that pretty soon .”
They are also almost finished with an expansion of the operating room department , which will include a new suite and give more room for physicians , he said . “ Were also excited to announce some other expansions . Our weight loss focus has many elements to it , and part of it has to do with a brand new location in Med Park West ,” Parker said .
They have a full-time APRN by the name of Robin Shawn Goff , who offers consultations on non-surgical weight loss services .
“ We have also created the surgical component to go along with that , specifically over the past year with some incredible surgeons using some robotics ,” Parker said .
LCRH also recently partnered with Drs . Allison and Brent Cherry and their QuickCare practice in Med Park West , which Parker said he was excited for .
“ We ’ re also thrilled to announce the opening of the McCreary County imaging and specialist clinic ,” Parker said . “ We ’ re offering the first CT services in McCreary County , as well as other imaging services . We have specialists rotating through , and it ’ s wonderful for those people .
“ Our mission is making communities healthier ,” Parker said . This is a great way of living that out , because those folks don ’ t have to travel so far . We ’ ve already seen well over 1,000 patients at that facility in just the period of time we ’ ve opened it . That ’ s 1,000 trips that those folks didn ’ t have to make for their healthcare . We ’ re also opening up other clinics across the region .”
