People helping people Think Twice as Nice when you are Spring cleaning

The winds of change are sweeping across Pulaski County bringing in the warmer air that beckons the budding of trees and the blooming flowers . The same wind also brings with it a tradition that dates back to ancient Persia – spring cleaning .
More than 3,000 years ago families in the Persian empire practiced spring cleaning and believed that by getting rid of both dust and clutter they could prevent bad luck in the coming year .
Whether Pulaski County residents see spring cleaning as a way to ward off bad juju or just a way to freshen the house up after a long winter there are a few tips that can make the job less stressful .
Sue Farmer is the manager and president of Greg Farmer Evangelistic Ministries , which operates Twice as Nice Thrift Store in Somerset . She and her staff are always excited to receive donations from Pulaski County families that are using spring cleaning to reduce clutter .
“ We do have steadier donations when people are spring cleaning ,” Farmer said , adding that many people donate to her store because it is part of an evangelical ministry . “ They know it helps other people .”
According to Farmer , Twice as Nice Thrift Store was able to donate more than $ 30,000 of its proceeds to other ministries in 2022 . Sue Farmer and her late husband , Greg Farmer , opened Twice as Nice Thrift store 17 years ago as part of their outreach ministry .
“ We saw a need and were happy to be able to give back and help ,” Sue Farmer said . “ We ran the thrift store together as a ministry .”
Twice as Nice Thrift Store is divided into sections to allow customers to easily find items they may need . Farmer also keeps Christian music playing in the store and says that customers often tell her that
