Spring is in the air !

By Christopher Harris CJ Magazine Editor
There ’ s no time of year quite like spring .
Everything feels new . The air is warmer . People are getting back outside . The trees are starting to turn green once again — and so are the outfits on St . Patrick ’ s Day .
We like to celebrate spring here at Southeastern Kentucky Magazine and all its customs — spring cleaning , spring planting , spring holidays .
We talk with local business Blindz & More , which can help you organize your space at home . Or declutter around the house by selling some of your old furniture the Twice as Nice Thrift Store or Boujee on a Budget — and while you ’ re there , maybe pick up something new to spruce up your space .
We stop at Ashley ’ s Garden Center and Glory Gardens & Greenhouse , and put a focus on items you can use to grow something new and beautiful this spring . And we also get in step with the Shamrock Shuffle 5K , possibly the most fun run-walk event in the Lake Cumberland area , which is moving to Somerset this year from Burnside .
March is also Deaf History Month , and we talk with Joel Dowlen , an alum of the Kentucky School for the Deaf in Danville about the challenges he ’ s faced and overcome .
We also learn about how Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital helps those with Multuple Sclerosis for National MS Education and Awareness Month , have a chat with a local artist and hear from readers about their favorite spring activities .
Winter is over . Get out . Stretch . Enjoy the great outdoors , and clean up around the house . And enjoy spring !
