A Three-Generation Family Business Journey
Dwight and Barbara Sears turn two family businesses into a statewide service organization
By Steve Cornelius
In the heart of the southern Pulaski county community thrives a threegeneration family business , a living testament to resilience , tradition , and the enduring bonds of kinship .
For nearly 44 years , the Davis and Sears families have poured their sweat , dreams , and unwavering dedication into a pair of business that transcends mere commerce .
For Dwight and Barbara Sears , family is everything .
Growing up as a young girl , Barbara learned her parent ’ s business – Davis Heating and Air Conditioning – from the ground up . She basically handled every aspect of answering calls , helping with scheduling , and the administrative work . As she got a little older , she would be on job sites , then started selling , and designing systems .
Barbara ’ s parents , Thiral and Sandy Davis , started their family business in 1980 after converting their family van into the Davis HVAC ’ s first company service vehicle . All the Davis children – Barbara , Buddy , and Corey – helped out with the thriving local service
