What kind of small business would you create ?
If you could own your own business – work for yourself , set your own hours and reap all of the rewards – what kind of business would you like to run ?
Many people daydream about that exact question , planning out the business , where it would go ( Would you want to take over one of downtown Somerset ’ s empty buildings ? Would it be better in Burnside ? Live in the thick of it on U . S . 27 ?), and how it would benefit the area . Of course , it ’ s also nice to dream about how much money you ’ d rake in too . A few months ago , my thoughts wandered away from me and into a dreamworld where I would build Somerset a science museum from the ground up . I planned out all my exhibits , including where the planetarium would go and how much to charge for shirts in the gift shop .
Of course , I ’ ll never have that kind of money . Plus , dreaming about owning your own business and actually running it are two different things entirely . The reality could turn from a dream to a nightmare quickly for those who don ’ t know what they are doing .
Still , it ’ s fun to pretend , and we here at SEKY Magazine thought we ’ d ask our readers what business they would want to run if they had the chance .
