Not just food is sold at the farm but also flowers and ferns can be bought which will brighten up any home or office .
Colorful hibiscus trees also stood in pots ready to be planted and show off their bright foliage .
“ Local is the key word for the farm . That ’ s part of the reason most of the items are only available during certain times of the year . While it may be inconvenient , eating locally is far better for the environment , and the fruits and veggies you get will be far fresher .
“ We ’ re not going to be shipping in southern melons whenever we can grow and produce them here ,” said Mark Burnett . “ One is just the logistics of it , but also I like to think we can grow a better product .”
The farm is family-oriented and community-oriented . This is first and foremost a Pulaski County store , said Mark Burnett .
“ That ’ s where I was born and raised ,” he said . “ That ’ s where home is , and that ’ s what I like .”
