They will walk new members through the steps of setting up with the program , including helping them download the app on their phone and showing them how to connect with physicians via Zoom
“ The whole purpose of Community Wellness is telehealth and of [ patients ] having that safety and security of being in their own home and getting to have management of their chronic health conditions ,” Dobbs said .
“ The mall has been really generous , too . In what used to be the Radio Shack space , we ’ re going to convert that to a private area for people to do those health screenings ,” Cox said . Community Wellness also has something called a PATH program , which stands for Primary Addiction Therapy at Home .
That is people who need addiction help but who are not comfortable receiving that help in a public setting .
But that ’ s not the only thing that will be on hand .
“ It ’ s not just physicians that are setting up . ... We ’ re going to have people there that can help people get connected to Medicare or Medicaid plans if they don ’ t have that yet ,” Cox explained . “ Or , maybe they already have them , but they don ’ t know all of the benefits that are available to them .”
The United Way will also have information on how to sign up for SNAP ( Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program ) benefits , “ because having access to food is a huge part of managing your chronic health conditions . especially with heart health ,” Cox said .
