Originally known as the Girdler House , this Queen Anne structure is the oldest on the tour . According to owners , Chris and Tina George , it was built in 1885 — one of the first six homes on Main Street .
The Georges don ’ t live in the house . Rather in 2016 , they established an inclusive , nonprofit center aimed at sharing art and movement with the community .
“ A lot of the work that you saw , instead of being just holiday decorations , were actually art installations that were created by the clients served at Shine House ,” Tina George explained .
“ The house itself is truly a piece of art ,” Chris George added , “ so it is only appropriate that a thriving arts community should exist there .… We ’ re very proud of it and I think that from 1885 , whoever lived there would be proud of what it is today as well .”
