said Alexander . “ They specialize in Santa suits and thanks to the generosity of this community , I was able to purchase my own suit to make special appearances throughout the Christmas season .”
Alexander knows that he ’ s blessed to be part of Santa ’ s loyal corps of volunteers in Pulaski County -- he mentioned Cate and another friend , Robert Williams , as individuals who help out the cause that Somerset is “ very lucky ” to have -- and knows how important it is to be convincing that they are , indeed , representing the spirit and form of Santa himself , as real as if the child had made the journey all the way to the North Pole and knocked on Santa ’ s door .
Of course , it takes more than just dedication on the part of Alexander and Cate -- it takes the faith of a child to really make the magic happen . But when that child believes in the truth of the Santa before them , that ’ s when the true potential of Father Christmas ’ local representative is unleashed .
“ I think each of us will tell you the same thing . We get to see Christmas through the eyes of a child ,” said Alexander of himself and his St . Nick Squad . “ When they buy into the legend and the bigger than life characterizations we bring to Somerset as Santa , you truly get to see what this season is all about . Hope . Charity . Love . That ’ s why we do this .”
