What ’ s the best part of summer vacation ?
When school days transition into the hazy and humid days of summer , family routines change . For many , there ’ s no need to get up at the crack of dawn to catch a bus . There ’ s no need for the teacher to spend their free time planning lessons or grading papers . It ’ s a time to be free , have fun and explore the world outside of a classroom . But that summer break still seem short when looking back on it . The few days of freedom might be filled up with swimming lessons , Vacation Bible School or any number of camps that a kid can be shipped off to , but all too quickly the focus turns back towards shopping for pencils , supplies and necessities to get kids and teachers back into the swing of school .
There ’ s a very famous rhyme that accompanies the end of a school year , and should one not want to get in trouble on the last day , it ’ s best to keep it out of the earshot of one ’ s teacher : “ No more pencils , no more books , no more teachers ’ dirty looks .” But truly , how many teachers are giving “ dirty looks ” when they might be just as excited to see the end of the year pop up as the kids are ? With Summer Break halfway over , SEKY magazine wanted to gauge the mood of parents , teachers and students about how the summer was going . That ’ s why we asked the question : What has been your favorite part about being out of school – for you or your kids ? As always , answers may have been corrected for spelling or grammar , because even though you ’ re out of school , you don ’ t get to drop your punctuation .
