Last year , Somerset decided to give hosting an air show a whirl . And since the concept flew , organizers decided to pull the prop one more time .
But they ’ re not just winging it . A brand new non-profit organization , named Lake Cumberland Air Show Inc ., has been created for the benefit of putting on an annual show .
Well-known local pilot David Morris is the president for the new organization , and he said that what they learned from 2021 ’ s show will be used to make the second installment even better .
For starters , the new show will be held on September 17 , mainly because last year ’ s August venture , while a crowd pleaser , was held on a day where temperatures reached the 90s .
“ We ’ re hoping that the September 17 date will alleviate that problem ,” he said .
Morris added that they will be doubling the number of shuttles
