Cost is $ 14.99 per animal and the store provides towels , shampoo and dryer .
“ You come in , bring your dog — we ’ ve had people actually bring in a goat and give it a bath ,” said Coffey .
You can also get your pet groomed at the store , with walk-in service addressing things like nail trims , sanitary glands , paw pads , and more . All the store needs is rabies vaccination papers — “ It cannot be the tag , it has to be the paper ,” said Coffey .
And you can even get those vaccinations at Feeders Pet Supply occasionally . Once a month , the store hosts VIP Petcare , a veterinary preventive care organization that partners with retailers to conveniently offer services .
“ For one hour , they can do microchipping , they can do flea and tick treatment , they can do rabies vaccinations , stuff like that ,” said Coffey .
She also noted that people can go online and sign up for obedience training for their dogs , all the way from early-life puppies to adult dogs , held at the store . If you don ’ t have a pet yet , you can possibly get one at Feeder ’ s Pet Supply . The store sells live animals including different types of birds and fish , as well as gerbils , rats , mice , ferrets , rabbits , chinchillas , and Guinea pigs .
Also , the store is partnered with the Somerset-Pulaski County Humane Society , and helps individuals adopt cats as approved through the Humane Society .
“ We have them in here so people can see them , then we directed them on how to adopt them ,” said Coffey .
The store has also donated thousands of dollars worth of food and merchandise to the Humane Society as a result of that partnership , she noted ; “ You name it , we ’ ve donated it to them .”
Perhaps a big part of the reason for the brand ’ s success is that they understand , much like a pet is part of the family , so is the customer to the business — and the employees .
“ It ’ s like a big family ,” said Coffey . “ I ’ ve talked to the CEO and have been around him numerous times and he ’ s just like another guy . He ’ ll get personal with you , as far as ( asking ), ‘ What do you think we could do to make ( the business ) grow ?’”
