TOMMY HARRIS EDGES BOWSER IN MINI CUPS

Tommy Harris led all twelve laps in the Mini Cup feature, leading last week’s winner, Kyle Pianka, for the first eight circuits and then holding off Hugh Bowser over the final four. Maddie Harkin finished third, ahead of Zackary Martinez.

Harkin and Nicholas Frechette started on the front row and Maddie nosed out while Frechette battled her then dropped in on her bumper. But she went around in turn four. Frechette went around to avoid her and Ava Chouinard bounced off on a light hit. Chouinard pitted for the duration.

On the restart, Harris took the front, despite contact and Pianka dropped in behind. Bowser ran thrid, ahead of Zachary Levesque. The field quickly went single file and Harris grabbed a five-car lead over Pianka. This continued through lap six where Levesque and Michael Cooper battled for position. Lap seven saw Cooper, Martinez and Frechette in a battle over fourth. Martinez got under Cooper and his front bumper hooked Cooper causing Cooper to spin and Frechette spinning to avoid.

The lap eight restart saw Harris and Pianka door-to-door with Pianka nosing head. Harris heated up and too the lead in turn two. But another caution interrupted and they lined up once again.

Once again, they went wheel-to-wheel before Harris took off in turn one and Bowser got underneath into second. Pianka was outside Harkin, who took over third. Under the white flag, it was Harris, Bowser, Harkin, Martinez and Pianka. And it continued all the way under the checkers

Completing the field were: Levesque, Cooper and Frechette.
