As the field stretched out, Parent was looking under Erstrella just as Fred Bonawelwicz went around in turn two; Nick Uhrig dodged around him. MacDonald and Estrella dueled briefly but Mac had the lead in turn two and Parent used the opportunity to get underneath and into second after a protracted duel. But as the spot was settled on lap 35, Blais spun down the front stretch.

Blais stopped facing traffic at the strip and the field scattered. But Barboza came in, locked up and slide sideways into him. The impact knocked Blais back two carlengths and eliminated both vehicles.

MacDonald pulled away on the restart and Parent went below Estrella. Arrenegado was coming up on the duel as MacDonald went to a three car lead. Parent cleared into second and set out after MacDonald. Estrella was in hot pursuit with Vinny on his tail. But Ramstrom began an assault on Arrenegado which saw him move past just before the final caution on lap 41.

The field then brawled to the checkers with The Hammer coming up to fight it out with Arrenegado and they hacksawed fifth place until Helliwell came up to pry sixth away from Lillie.

The Hammer grabbed sixth, followed by Bernard, Gerry DeGasparre, Jr., Rob Murphy and Moreshead.
