AVA CHOUINARD GRABS

FIRST CAREER CHECKERS

Ava Chouinard captured her first win behind the wheel as she wheeled her mini-cup to a green-to-checker trip at the front of the field and first under the checkered flag enroute to victory lane. She leapt off the pole at the beginning of the race and led Nikolas Frechette away from the box.

Kyle Pianka came out of turn four and down the front with his back end vibrating and he took it to the pits.

Chouinard led Frechette, Maddie Harkin, Hugh Bowser and Evan Donnellan in lap three. Next time by, she held a five-car lead. Scott Serydynski, Jr. was headed for the front and came around Tommy Harris for position and his back end came around and he caromed off Harris and Even Marchand in turn four to bring out a caution.

The restart saw Chouinard and Frechette at the front followed by Harkin and Bowser. Chouinard grabbed the front and there was contact between Frechette and Harkin at the stripe. The lined up again for a second try at the restart and it became a wheel-to-wheel between Chouinard and Harkin. Chouoinard took a nose into turn two and had the lead out of turn four. She rocketed out to a three car lead, followed by Harkin and Mason Tessier. Zachary Martinez held fourth, followed by Bowser and Donnellan.

Chouinard continued to increase her lead. By lap 14, the entire field was stretched out single file with Chouinard still leading Harkin, who in turn was followed by Tessier, Martinez, Donnellan, Brittany Campbell, Bowser and Serydynski.

The field held position and circulated around the third-of-a-mile through the checkers, bringing Chouinard to her first win at the wheel of a racecar.

Second went to Harkin followed by Tessier, Martinez and Donnellan. Sixth went to Campbell followed by Bowser, Serydynski, Harris and Marchand..
