SERYDYNSKI AT MIDSEASON:

BIG STREET STOCK WIN

Scott Serydynski wove his way through traffic in the Street Stock ranks to get the lead away from Vinny Pangelinan, who had led since the green dropped, then battled over the closing six lap with a host of chasers on his bumper, including most of the division’s points leaders: Thomas Adams, Jesse Melberg, Kid Chaos Corey Fanning, Tyler Lallier and Scott Bruneau. But the division’s leader in feature wins added one more to his victory skein as the checkers waved.

As the race went green, Pangelinan nosed away from Ryan Flood and Paul Williams jumped in underneath. Mike Teague was working under Fanning and then Serydynski as Fanning slid back along the outside. Scott nosed out into third with Teague still fighting on the low ground.

Ten laps in, Pangelinan led several cars behind him, a tight line of competitors running nose-to-tail: Teague, Williams, Serydynski, Teague, Adams, Fanning and Tyler Lallier. Paul Lallier was working his way up along with Ant Kohler.

But lap 14 saw Tim Watson into the wall just out of turn two. Bruneau went to the pits for adjustment and returned.

Vinny was away on the restart, and Scott went under Williams. Scott then nosed under Pangelinan. He couldn’t move ahead and backed out, going to the outside and began nosing past. As this occurred, Tyler ducked under Williams.

Lap 16 saw Pangelinan still in the lead but his hands were full with Serydynski’s predations.

The battle continued with the two hacksawing position. As Scott got a nose ahead, Teague spun out bringing caution. Pangelinan retired to the pits. This time Serydynski and Tyler Lallier started wheel-to-wheel on lap 22.

Arrayed behind them were Adams, Fanning, Melberg, Williams, Murphy and Flood. Scott nosed out and took the lead out of turn two. Lallier fought down to the low groove but came loose and was going backwards. Adams ran past in turn two

The field jousted to the white flag lap with Serydynski holding his lead on Adams, Melberg, Fanning and Tyler, who had recovered, all the way to the finish. Completing the top ten were Bruneau, Murphy, Flood, Williams and Kevin Bowe.
