One day, Terri put down her usual high-brow issue of The Times and
ventured on to the Daily Mail website. There was an article about one
columnists experience of attending a cuddle workshop in London which
got her thinking – isn’t it mad that people will specifically seek out an
organised activity in order to experience affection and comfort when
surely it is far more comforting to turn to family and friends for a
reassuring hug. Then the realisation came – perhaps this is a comment
on the fast paced, work-centric society that we currently appear to be in
the midst of. Perhaps people have had to move away from their close
circle of contacts that can provide the free therapy of talking things
through and letting your hair down with? Perhaps it makes more sense
to factor in ‘happy time’ when one has a hectic schedule? Before her
thoughts were merely left to drift away with other ponderings on life,
she shared the idea of embarking on a journey to answer some of these
questions to equally inquisitive Rhianne.
