It’s ironic that I’m going on a journey to find how people relieve stress, when this has been one of the most stressful
12 hours ever.
Terri and I have been on three trains, one plane and two tube rides to get to the hotel- add zero hours of sleep into
the equation and that makes for one very tired girl.
Considering I’m absolutely petrified of flying, it’s almost funny that I agreed to do this. The wait at the airport was
as if I was waiting in line to walk the plank, I spent most of my time nervously pacing around the duty free shops
and picking at a Boots meal deal. Until eventually, our gate opened and it was time to board this giant metal
cylinder with flying abilities.
Once on the plane, Terri was pointing out the fluffy clouds in the distance and how pretty the sky looked as the sun
was rising, I was distracted- (for a short while) but the combination of a man snoring on my shoulder and the little
rocks of turbulence every so often made me cry inside and my heart feel like it was going to jump out of my throat.
Once the plane touched the ground, relief swept over me. I had survived and was alive to tell the story. I was
unstoppable! That was until we had to find our way to the hotel, thank the heavens for an English speaking woman
and a trusty map, which acted as our guide to the underground and pointed us in the right direction.
A much needed shower in the hotel and a nap is definitely in order and it will be interesting to see how far we will
get with 100 euros between us
