Authoritarian
Where HIGH control and LOW Warmth is shown from parents. They tend to be highly directive, more controlling and distant. They tend to value obedience and are most like to maintain order on the family. Unfortunately, this type of parents show low warmth and their children may either become rebellious or dependent from them.
Rejectin/Neglecting
(Indifferent)
Here LOW control and LOW warmth is shown from parents. They do not have any structure, organization nor discipline in the family. This type of parents tend to reject or neglect their children and focus just on their own problems.
Children here tend to have behavior and/or legal problems, show a low academic performance, and be aggressive.
Authoritative
(democratic)
Here HIGH control and HIGH warmth is shown from parents. They tend to be flexible but firm. They like to maintain control and discipline but often show some reason and flexibility. Also, they have clear expectations for behavior and conduct and foster responsibility, cooperation, and self-regulation.
Children tend to be self-confident and have self-control. Also they are socially competent and well adapted, more mature and like to learn how to negotiate and engage in discussions.

Permissive
(Laissez-Faire)
Where LOW control and HIGH warmth is shown from parents. They don’t like to demand anything to their children, and tend to avoid confrontation of problem behavior. Also, they don’t use a lot of discipline, and therefore they allow their children to regulate themselves.
Children tend to be very impulsive and don’t take the rules seriously. Also, they are often very smart, but less achievement oriented
